Map of Florida teacher evaluations

/

Florida education leaders released the latest batch of teacher evaluations, cataloging educators into one of six categories for the 2012-13 school year. Teachers are evaluated by what administrators observe at school as well as students’ test scores. Florida teachers are evaluated on what’s called a "value-added model", which factors into an educator's evaluation whether a student scores better on tests than models predict. The map below shows teacher evaluations across Florida, summing the "Highly effective" and "Effective" categories into a "'Plus' rating' level for easier display. Use the dropdown filters beneath the map to focus on school year, school district or "Plus" rating levels. Click on an icon on the map to get more details for individual schools. (NOTE: Best effort has been made to accurately locate each school on the map, but incomplete information has limited some institutions to approximated locations.)
